Theme park veteran Neal Thurman has been selected as the new President of Six Flags Magic Mountain, replacing Bonnie Sherman-Weber. Thurman was previously the Director of Operations at Magic Mountain from 2007-2014. Following his time at Magic Mountain, he became the Park President of two other Six Flags parks – Six Flags Fiesta Texas (2014-2016) and Six Flags Great Adventure (2016-2017). The position became available when long-time Six Flags Magic Mountain Park President, Bonnie-Sherman-Weber, took a new role within the regional park organization.
Weber, who started at Magic Mountain flipping burgers at the age of 14, has been promoted to a corporate position at Six Flags; as the new Senior Vice President of In-Park Services, she will now be working from the company’s headquarters in Grand Prairie, Texas. This change comes at a very big time for Magic Mountain. The park recently started an initiative to operate 365 days a year, stirring up competition with other Southern California theme parks such as Knott’s Berry Farm, Universal Studios, and Disneyland, all three of which have similar schedules.
