Theme parks are always looking to give you the next big thrill. August is the month of announcements, and much of the enthusiasts turn their focus to what’s coming in 2018. Will their favorite amusement parks get an exciting new ride? With the summer operating season starting to come to a close, some parks are adding something extra to give park goers a different experience on a favorite ride before the season concludes. Six Flags St. Louis announced that it will offer a new experience on the park’s tallest attraction, SkyScreamer from now until Labor Day . For a limited time, SkyScreamer will take things in a different direction. Park goers are being lifted 236 feet in the air and spun backwards. The SkyScreamer ride is being run backwards, giving riders a twist on the ride they love. According to the park website, “The tallest ride in the park, SkyScreamer, features double, open air swings that provide a front row seat for the 32 guests that climb to the top. Spinning round and round with feet dangling, guests will soar in a 98-ft circle at speeds up to 43 mph all in reverse giving a unique ride experience.” While this is a first for the St Louis-area amusement park, this is not the first time Six Flags has done this at one of its properties. They did it in 2014 during Fright Fest at New England with many fans really enjoying the experience. Now, the largest regional park chain is offering a similar experience to people who are going to Six Flags St Louis. Let’s hear from our Coaster Addicts on what has been your favorite ride that you experienced backwards?
