Six Flags just announced that it is installing Rocky Mountain Constructions’ (RMC) latest concept, “Raptor Track,” to its San Antonio property, Six Flags Fiesta Texas. While this is the world’s first RMC Raptor Track design at a park (certainly the first to be confirmed), this will also make it the first and only amusement park to have two RMC roller coasters. Park goers at Six Flags Fiesta Texas have really enjoyed the RMC-designed Iron Rattler, so it makes sense to add another RMC product in the park. RMC continues to innovate and grow in popularity, both with amusement parks and with their enthusiastic guests. Named after D.C. Comics’ most famous female superhero, Wonder Woman Golden Lasso will be one of the most unique ride experiences in the industry. Park President Jeffery Siebert said, [it’s going to be] “odd to go upside down on such a tiny track. It will feel like you’re riding Wonder Woman’s whip.” With a height of 113 feet and a 52 mph first drop, this ride is sure to be a fan-pleaser. The coaster’s steep 90-degree, 100-foot drop will make guests want to ride this new thrill machine over and over again.
This world’s first roller coaster will send 8 riders, single file along a winding coaster track. Three amazing inversions will thrill guests time and time again. The fact, however, that this coaster experience will be sitting on one single rail makes for a different feeling. RMC, however, is known for its smooth rides, and this new attraction will be no different. Six Flags VP and Chief Corporate Engineer, Larry Chickola, exclaims, “I expect it to be crazy smooth. And crazy fun. There will be extremely quick twists and turns – quicker and smoother than regular coasters.”
