The latest roller coaster design concept out of Hayden, Idaho, appears to be closer than ever to being announced for some amusement park. The single-rail design Raptor track from Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) was recently [successfully] tested at their manufacturing facilities. With a KXLY4 reporter, Derek Deis, at the RMC headquarters to check in on 2018 roller coaster projects, it appears this Raptor track prototype will be ready for riders at a yet-to-be-named US-based amusement park in 2018. Testing of the ride continues as more pieces of the track are fabricated. From all indications, the fan-favorite RMC brand is hard at work for its busiest season yet with a total of seven worldwide major projects in the works. Where might the Raptor track concept be installed for 2018?
I got to do this for work yesterday. Watch for my Made in the NW story on Rocky Mountain Construction in Hayden on Thursday.
