Want an extended view from atop Valleyfair? In 2017, park guests will get that experience on North Star, a 230-foot tall circular swing. Reaching speeds of nearly 40 mph, guests will get new, extended views of Valleyfair unlike anything offered in the park before. Two people will sit side-by-side in a swing-like seat as their feet dangle below. The tower will lift riders into the air and begin spinning them around and around. Overall, this new attraction will become the park’s second tallest thrill ride, just 45 feet shorter than the popular Power Tower drop ride. While shorter than the Power Tower, the North Star will offer a longer experience up in the air, adding new memories for guests of all ages.
This new attraction will take the spot left vacant from the departing Enterprise attraction. The North Star will be the first attraction of its kind in the Upper Midwest region of the United States. “The annual trip to Valleyfair has always been a family tradition in Minnesota,” says Dave Frazier, Vice President and General Manager of Valleyfair. “The addition of North Star certainly adds to the continued commitment to provide lasting family memories for our guests.” With the Enterprise attraction being removed this month, construction on this new attraction should be completed as early as December and scheduled for first rides by park guests when Valleyfair opens back up to the public in spring of 2017.
