Universal’s new Volcano Bay waterpark will be opening up on May 25, 2017. The new waterpark is made up of four different areas filled with a total of 18 rides, including: “aqua coasters,” 2 drop slides, body slides, raft rides, lazy rivers, a racer slide through underwater caves, and many beaches to relax on between the rides. In addition to exciting rides, Volcano Bay also offers 6 restaurants/bars throughout the park, which provide anything but your normal amusement park cuisine. Some of the foods listed include BBQ chicken, tacos, coconut fried chicken, tropical cocktails, and other island-themed food.
If that wasn’t all Universal was offering to make Volcano Bay stand out from other waterparks, they have also introduced a wristband system inside the park, called TapuTapu. This waterproof bracelet will allow visitors to reserve their spot in line for attractions, put money on it to spend throughout the park, replace the need for a locker key, and upload their photo opportunities taken around the park onto their account. No more waiting in lines or keeping up with the locker key! Soggy money is a thing of the past, and all photos taken throughout the visit will be safe to access later. Through this new system, Universal has taken the hassle out of visiting a waterpark and will hopefully make it an enjoyable experience for all!
