Six Flags Over Georgia is teaming up with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA) again in 2016. That’s right; the fifth annual CHOA Coasterthon is scheduled for Thursday, August 4, 2016. Normally scheduled for June, this event has been moved to August, but, with that, comes exciting news – the coasterthon event for this great charity will be held on Six Flags Over Georgia’s popular Goliath hypercoaster. Over the four previous [annual] CHOA Coasterthon charity events hosted by Six Flags Over Georgia, tens of thousands of dollars have been raised with each and every dollar going directly to help these ill children.
Like last year, this year’s proceeds are going directly to the family services division. This division helps children and their families with many of their needs as the children fight off major illnesses. Unfortunately, medical experts have yet to figure out cures to these major illnesses facing young people today. As a result, the hospital and those children battling these diseases need our help. Thankfully, the children in the Atlanta area have a fantastic hospital system to help treat their illnesses, but they need our help.
The Children Need Our Help!
There are a few ways you can help make a difference for the children. First, you can sign up today using the event registration page. Participating in these coasterthon charity events are really fun. Participants get to meet new people, ride an awesome roller coaster, and do all of this for a great cause. But, what if you are unable to come to the August 4th event? What if you just do not like heights or roller coasters in general? Well, you can still make a difference. There are many people participating this year, and we’d encourage you to donate to this great cause through one of their fundraising pages. As in previous years, Team Coaster Addict team members are excited to ride and raise money for these children. A list of participating Coaster Addict team members can be found below. If you have a few dollars here or there that you can spare, I encourage you to click on a link below and donate what you can. Every little bit helps; your donation helps to make that difference.
