With the arrival of recently opened Bugs Bunny BoomTown and World’s First DC Super Friends, children of all ages are sure to find plenty of fun and plenty of thrills on their next visit to Six Flags Over Georgia! Many families have often reached out to Six Flags and asked them to add more family-friendly attractions to their Atlanta area park so that everybody in the family could have a lot of fun all summer long, and the park listened. Not only have they listened, but they have acted and really stepped up their family offerings with these new additions. Never before has there been a DC Universe-themed junior/children’s area within an amusement park.
With beautiful weather in abundance, two of the original members of Justice League, Batman and Wonder Woman, were on hand to help debut this new area of the park. In Six Flags fashion, onlookers counted down from six as these two superheroes cut the ribbon and open DC Super Friends!
According to Six Flags Atlanta Properties’ Communications Manager, Gene Petriello, the rides unveiled in DC Super Friends are some really great “intermediate rides for the nine to fifteen-year-old” who may not want to ride some of the park’s taller thrills like Acrophobia! Ultimately, this area offers some great thrills for people of all ages. When asked about if these are just some new kiddie rides, Petriello noted, “That’s a misconception about this area. People think that these are kiddie rides; these are not kiddie rides!” For example, people of all ages can find numerous thrills on Wonder Woman Flight School – a great flat ride that allows the rider to determine how intense and thrilling the ride experience is!
Season passholders get a preview of this new family area on Friday, and the general public will get to enjoy it beginning on Saturday. Six Flags Over Georgia took an area of the park that needed some new life and repurposed it for families. Centrally located, this new area allows moms with younger children to have a great time while their older teens to ride roller coasters nearby. When the temperatures kick it up a notch during the summer, park guests in this area will be close to two great water attractions in addition to being a short walk away from Hurricane Harbor!
The days of families wondering if there will be enough fun thrills for their younger children and pre-teens to enjoy are a thing of the past. Families waiting for their children to get old enough to ride all of the park’s roller coasters need not wait any longer. The park has a wonderful family offering. One quick word of warning – families will best be served by getting a season pass because the children are going to want to come back again and again! With the addition of DC Super Friends [and Bugs Bunny BoomTown earlier in 2016], Six Flags Over Georgia has a contender for best kid’s area!
