With only one weekend of Fright Fest remaining and the transition to Holiday in the Park nearly here for Six Flags Over Georgia, excitement starts to build around the new project for 2017, Justice League: Battle for Metropolis. If you have made a visit to the park any during Fright Fest and made your way back towards the Metropolis section, you would see that construction for the new ride is fully underway. I made a visit two weeks ago, and the building structure is already up. To get the best view as I did, make your way to Superman Ultimate flight flying coaster; ride this awesome coaster, and upon going up the lift hill, you will get a great view of the construction site. Don’t forget to keep those hands up as Superman takes you for a ride!!
Is the new dark ride a good addition to SFOG?
That’s the one question I feel like everyone was asking when Six Flags announced it on September 1, 2016. At first, I was a little disappointed as I’m sure a lot of coaster enthusiasts were, especially with the park celebrating its 50-year anniversary next season. But now, I think that it’s going to be a great addition to an already stellar lineup of rides and attractions Six Flags has to offer. With the addition of Battle for Metropolis, it gives guest the second dark ride (besides Monster Mansion) to cool off in the hot summer and for those who have little ones and prefer a great family ride. A second indoor attraction is great for park guests to enjoy when inclement weather and/ or your favorite attraction is down.
In conclusion, I can’t wait to see how it turns out and what impact it makes for Six Flags in 2017. It may not be a coaster, but I’m sure it’s going to be a fan favorite next season and beyond; from what I’ve seen and heard, it is very popular at all of the other Six Flags parks that currently have it. 2017 promises to be a great year for Six Flags Over Georgia, and I believe that Battle for Metropolis is going to help out with what’s in store for the park’s 50th anniversary celebration. Who’s excited?
