It appears that Cedar Fair will be updating and expanding one of its other Cedar Point hotel properties. First reported by Sandusky Register, “during a Tuesday meeting, city planning commission members approved a request to add 69 rooms to the 350-room Breakers Express.” In addition, the commission will allow Cedar Fair to make room for 80 additional parking spots. While the start date for this project has yet to be formally disclosed, expanding Breakers Express is a great way to add economic growth to the area while also ensuring that park guests have additional accommodation options when they visit Cedar Point. One additional side note is that the Cedar Point Sports Complex is currently under construction. Phase One is currently slated to open in Spring 2017 with additional expansion expected to be completed sometime in 2018. As a result of this, more visitors are certain to be visiting Sandusky, Ohio. This should result in more hotel and motel room reservations and more people visiting Cedar Point. Also, Cedar Point’s 150th anniversary is just a few years away too (in 2020). To accommodate both of these, it is a great opportunity for Cedar Fair to continue improving and expanding its hotel offerings. As more details become available, CoasterAddict.com will be certain to report on the developments!
