Happy Father’s Day to all fathers out there. Like most holidays, park attendance on Father’s Day can often be higher than other Sundays. Surprisingly, however, crowd sizes can often depend on which park you are going to. For example, it is likely that Six Flags Over Georgia gets higher attendance than the Roller Coaster Capitol of the World, Cedar Point, does.
Why Holiday Attendance Differs Among Parks?
Maybe, it just seems that way since Cedar Point has a few more roller coasters than does Six Flags Over Georgia. Or maybe, just maybe, Cedar Point masks its attendance a little better because it is a little bit bigger than Six Flags Over Georgia – 366 acres versus 297 acres. One other consideration is that Six Flags parks tend to use holidays like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day as opportunities for their season passholders to “Bring a Friend for Free!” On the other hand, some or all of the Cedar Fair parks merely offer discounted ticket prices for friends of season passholders. It is that difference why many of the Coaster Addict team will enjoy a great Father’s Day at Cedar Point or just go to Six Flags Over Georgia for the final few hours of the Sunday festivities.
If your father really loves spending the day at the theme park with the family, be sure to do some quick research a few weeks before Father’s Day! Find out what specials parks near you have for Father’s Day. How busy is the park during an average weekend day? How busy are they on holidays? Also, it is a good idea to ask your friends or even call the park to find out how busy they normally are. If your father really loves riding all of the coasters during each park visit, be sure you can ride them all. Knowing your father’s expectations and the typical park attendance trends for Father’s Day will make the time at the park. A little research will make Father’s Day a little more happy!
