For the past few years, the Justice League: Battle For Metropolis dark rides at some of your favorite Six Flags amusement parks have won numerous awards and captured the attention of park guests. These park goers line up by the hundreds each hour in order to battle their friends, beat their own high scores, and save the Justice League! These immersive dark rides are extremely fun for enthusiasts of all ages, but the question becomes – how high of a score can you get? While it would be inappropriate to give away all of the hidden secrets and Easter Eggs that make for a top 5% score, but here are five tips to help you get a head start.
Make the Most of the Queue Line
Sure, you might be in a bit of a longer line during your visit to the park, but do not let that discourage you. Instead, use that time wisely and look for ways to learn more about the various things to shoot at. The storyline plays on rotation in the queue line, so watch it and see if you can figure out any tips while you wait. Also, check out any signage in the queue areas that point out point values for various objects or people. While those signs will not tell you everything, it will give you some pointers that may be quite valuable during your next battle experience.
Make Efficient Use of Laser Blaster
While everybody has their preference in how to hold their blasters, the goal is often to get more laser rounds down range (so to speak). To accomplish this feat, it may be best to hold the blaster in one hand and use the fingers from the other hand to rapid fire the blaster. The traditional means of shooting, while possibly more accurate, will not get more laser beams on the bad guys. Of course, you can switch hands between the scenes to avoid forearm fatigue! Note that some scenes and shooting scenarios do reward accurate over pure quantity of firepower; if you find yourself in one of those situations, pick the most accurate shooting style for you. Just remember that there is a lot going on in each scene, so be on the lookout for opportunities to both be accurate and rapid fire!
Look Beyond The Joker and Lex Luthor
Your laser blaster will not likely kill The Joker or Lex Luthor, so why not look beyond them for other things to shoot at. If you are aiming at these two supervillains, it is highly likely that you are wasting precious time in the scene that you are in. This is the precious time that your family and friends are using to rack up even more points. Explore the various scenes and test out new objects to shoot at besides these two
Look Beyond Henchmen and Lexibots
While shooting at Joker and Lex will likely result in any points, shooting at the orange-outfitted henchmen and flying Lexibots will score you some points. However, there are many other scoring opportunities too, so it is best not to get fixated on these smaller value targets. Look around and shoot different things and see what happens. Also, don’t count the henchmen out; if they are down, they might not be dead, so there could still be some points available if you shoot him, so give that a try once you’ve looked around the scene for higher value targets.
Can You Keep a Secret?
Okay, so you discovered a high-value target or Easter Egg; that is great. The urge will be to tell others and brag about this new discovery. While it is fine to tell some people, know that telling those who you might battle with next could be very counterproductive to you and to them. As you battle over and over and discover Easter Eggs, you might notice that some, especially those that rely on sequencing or accuracy, are tough to get when more than one person in the ride vehicle knows about them. If you tell two others in the vehicle about your recent discovery, you might find your next score to be significantly lower. It is bad enough that this can happen by accident when battling with people who have yet to discover these Easter Eggs; battling people who do know about it will force you to get extra-creative in each scene; so, if you do not know multiple ways to score big in each major scene, just keep that discovery a secret and let them learn about it for themselves.
BONUS: Practice makes perfect.
Do you have some friends or family members that you want to beat? If so (and if you have some free time at Six Flags), get a few more cycles in on this attraction. If you are by yourself, that is fine too; use the single-rider line and save a few minutes of wait time in the queue lines. This is the time you can really try out new things and explore the possibilities in the various Battle For Metropolis scenes. With so much going on in each scene, it is common to not notice everything on your first few tries. This is one of the best tips that team members from ride manufacturer, Sally Corporation, gave us, and it has paid off. Even with some experience, Team Coaster Addict continues to see new things during each battle, so keep practicing – your score will increase soon enough!
