Christmas is a time for friends and family to gather together and enjoy the best that life has to offer. Thrill seekers and families alike often head out to theme parks to enjoy the roller coasters, amazing food, and beautiful lights. If you are one of those people and plan to be in the Tampa area, Busch Gardens Africa [Tampa] is the place you will definitely want to check out. During the day, all of the rides are open, and amazing food spots are
It is best to allow yourself enough time to get to the park. During the holiday season, traffic in and around Busch Gardens can be hectic, and there is nothing worse than getting frustrated over this experience. You probably did not set aside all of your fun money just to sit in traffic and arrive late to the one place your family has been looking forward to all season, right?
If possible, get to the park right when the parking lot opens and enter the park when the park opens. This allows you to get to those roller coasters and thrill attractions that you really want to knock out before the night time Christmas Town experiences. This also allows you to get around the park quicker, allowing you to better familiarize yourself with the park. If you have never been to the park before, it is not always fun to learn the park for the first time in the dark. Sure, if can be done, but it is never an optimal experience. By walking around early in the day, you will be better suited to navigate the park in the evening, and you will know which attractions you may want to arrive for earlier than others. If you have questions about the night time experiences, you have extra time to ask park employees.
Stay at Preferred Hotels
If you are from out of town, you may want to look into staying close to the park for convenience purposes. If you do not have a parking pass, pick a hotel that is a preferred partner of Busch Gardens and get shuttled to and from the front of the park. This allows you to avoid having to wait in lines for the tram to and from your parking spot, and it saves you some money by not having to pay for the parking. In addition, a lot of these hotels offer great amenities that help offset the [typical] added prices charged. For example, Embassy Suites over on the University of South Florida campus offers free [cook-to-order] breakfast each morning and beverages in the early evening.
Invest in a PhotoKey
Busch Gardens offers a lot of places to get photos taken. They have ride photos on Sheikra, Kumba, Cheetah Hunt, Air Grover, Sand Serpent, and many others. In addition, the park has other photo spots spread out throughout the park. If you want to capture all of these photos but don’t buy their PhotoKey pass in advance, you will have to collect and keep up with photo codes and temporary photo cards, and then you will have to combine them all at the end of the day. If you plan to get all of the photos, it is best to get the PhotoKey in advance – they offer one-day unlimited PhotoKeys as well as Annual PhotoKeys. If you plan to visit more than one day at the park, the annual option is the best. We found that getting the Photo Key early helps getting a few more snapshots at the various photo spots in the park. When their photographers see that you already have the PhotoKey to hand the photographer, we found that the photographers tend to take an extra picture or two compared to if you do not have the PhotoKey.
Consider a Christmas Town Upgrade or Tour
Sure, you have your annual or fun pass to get in, and you may have paid for parking, but you might want to consider spending a few more dollars for that added experience. Lines can be longer during the Christmas Town experience, and you won’t want to spend all of your time in the park rushing to get in everything you had in mind. If you love roller coasters, the Quick Queue Pass is great; you can buy one that gives you unlimited access to the shorter line or access to the shorter line once per major attraction. For those looking to taking in all of the Christmas season festivities, the park offers a Christmas Town VIP Experience that gives you priority access to the very popular Santa’s House, an amazing up-close encounter with penguins at Penguins Point, and so much more.
It’s Christmas time right now, and many families are also looking to enjoy the park. If the weather is nice or you are actually going to visit on Christmas Day, the holiday attractions may be a little crowded. Don’t worry though, for the park has so much to offer. If one attraction is extremely crowded, head to the next attraction, or you can elect to wait along with the crowd. The park is doing all it can to help make the lines move quickly and to help ensure you and your family has the best experience ever! No matter what you decide to do or which route you take throughout the park, remember that it is Christmas, that you are there to have a great time, and that the park has so much to offer. Take a breath, have a little extra patience, and enjoy the park!
