Guests will be flipping for Cyborg Cyber Spin, a new flat ride that Six Flags Great Adventure is adding for the 2018 season. The first of its kind to open in America, the triple box design allows the ride to rotate forwards, backwards, and sideways, creating a wild and unique ride for thrill seekers. A new concept called a Tourbillon from the Swiss company ABC Rides, the ride will rise 70 feet above the ground, provide a maximum of 3.5Gs, have a ride time of fifty to seventy-five seconds, and have a ride capacity between 720 and 910 people per hour. Park President Neal Thurman stated, “Six Flags leads the industry in thrill ride innovation; it is part of our DNA.” This wild looking new ride seems to fit into that description perfectly. Cyborg, a lesser known D.C. super hero, gets a second example of exposure as he is featured prominently in the Justice League ride with an impressive animatronic that greets and guides riders as they come to the end of the queue. The ride will be located next to the new addition for 2017, Justice League: Battle for Metropolis adding to the D.C. Comics feel along with the Dark Knight and Batman coasters in that area. Speculation is that Great Adventure will open up that section of the park entirely near the front entrance so that patrons won’t have to make the long walk around to these new attractions in the future. Park officials are targeting a late spring opening, consistent with their usual Memorial Day openings for new rides.
